What is Vida Health?
Vida is a digital platform that offers personalized health programs and live, one-on-one support from an expert coach or therapist — all through an easy-to-use mobile app and website.
When you sign up with Vida, you’ll share your health goals and preferences. Vida will use that information to tailor a program to your needs and you’ll pick a coach or therapist to support you along the way. Your program will include helpful resources like videos, lessons, recipes, and more, plus easy progress-tracking. You’ll also be able to connect any fitness trackers or health devices you use.
Who is eligible for Vida health coaching through ICCU?
All ICCU team members and their immediate household members (spouse, domestic partner, and dependents age 18+) are eligible for Vida Health at no charge.
What kind of health coaching can I receive through Vida?
At Vida, we handpick the best coaches, health experts, and therapists from across the country. Whether you’re just starting your health journey, training for your next marathon, or somewhere in between, our coaches and therapists can help you reach your personal goals. Here are a few examples of things we can help with:
- Nutrition, including support for specialized diets (gluten-free, paleo, vegan, keto, and more)
- Getting fit: exercise and strength training
- Coping with stress, anxiety or depression
- Improving sleep
- Postpartum health and weight loss
- Managing diabetes, hypertension or other chronic conditions
- Tackling pre-diabetes or other risk factors, so they don’t lead to chronic disease
- Building resilience and improving your outlook
Can I only participate if I have a chronic condition?
No. Whether you are looking to get (or stay) fit, lose weight, handle stress or anxiety, prevent disease, manage a chronic condition or meet another health goal, we have expert coaches and therapists available to help.
Who can participate in Vida’s mental health programs?
Any registered member! Life is full of everyday ups and downs and almost everyone feels anxious or stressed from time to time. All of us can benefit from positive mental health practices.
Whether you’re looking to better handle stress, build your resilience to bounce back from whatever life throws your way, overcome depression or anxiety or work toward another mental health goal, we have expert health coaches and licensed therapists available to help.
Our stress resilience and stress management programs equip you with tools and practices to meet and embrace the ups and downs that come your way. And our licensed therapists use proven cognitive behavioral therapy techniques to help you deal with life’s challenges.
For anxiety and depression treatment, team members with ICCU insurance coverage should find a licensed therapist through MD Live or HMA by visiting www.mdlive.com/hma or calling HMA (Medical Group # 020388) at 1-800-869-7093.
Can I choose my coach or therapist?
Absolutely. After downloading the Vida Health app, you’ll be prompted to create an account and select your preferred program. Then, we’ll get you matched to a coach by collecting your input, including the coaching style you’d like, whether a cheerleader, drill sergeant, listener, or something else.
We’ll recommend some coaches/therapists that could be a good fit and then the choice is up to you.
Can I change coaches/therapists if it doesn’t work out with my first coach/therapist?
Absolutely. To request a change, go to the Home screen in your Vida app, tap the gear icon in the upper right, then tap Request New Coach. You’ll complete a brief survey so we can match you with a new coach that’s the best fit for your style and goals.
What happens to the information I provide to Vida?
All personal information that you share through Vida’s app is confidential and is securely stored in encrypted databases. Vida Health is fully HIPAA-compliant. If you wish to have your information deleted, please contact email@example.com.
What type of information will ICCU receive?
Vida and ICCU take your personal health information very seriously. Your data will only be accessible to your Vida team, and select health apps you connect to Vida. Vida will not share your participation, results, or any personally identifiable health information with ICCU.

My spouse, partner, or dependent is having trouble signing up. How do they sign up through my employer benefits?
Your family members (including spouses, partners, and dependents ages 18+) are eligible to use Vida’s services at no charge through your employer benefits. They may need YOUR name and YOUR employee ID number to sign up.
They can download the Vida Health app at the landing page: vida.com/ICCU. If your spouse encounters a screen during onboarding within the Vida Health app which says, “Oops, something doesn’t match our records”, have them try re-entering their legal first name and last name (i.e., the name ICCU may have on file).
He or she may also have the option to complete this eligibility verification by selecting a second option which will provide an opportunity to enter an “employee ID” and “date of birth”. In this case, he or she should enter the employee’s “employee ID” number and enter the employee’s date of birth. If this is not successful, they can contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
