What is Vida Health?

Vida Health is a digital platform that offers personalized health programs and live, one-on-one support from an expert health coach — all through an easy-to-use mobile app and website.

When a member signs up with Rx Activate, they will share their health goals and preferences. Vida will use that information to tailor a program to a member’s needs and the member will pick a coach to support them along the way. The program will include helpful resources like videos, lessons, recipes, and more, plus easy progress-tracking. Members will also be able to connect any fitness trackers or health devices they use.

Who is eligible for Vida through National Dentex Corporation?

Vida is available at no additional cost to U.S. associates who are eligible for a National Dentex-sponsored medical plan and their family members (age 18+) who are enrolled in a National Dentex-sponsored medical plan. Residents of Puerto Rico are not eligible for Vida.

What kind of health coaching can I receive through Vida?

Vida handpicks the best coaches and health experts from across the country. Whether a member is just starting their health journey, training for their next marathon, or somewhere in between, Vida’s coaches can help members reach their personal goals.

Here are a few examples of things Rx Activate can help with:

  • Nutrition, including support for specialized diets (gluten-free, paleo, vegan, keto, and more)
  • Exercise and strength training, from getting started to prepping for competitions
  • Coping with stress
  • Improving sleep
  • Managing diabetes, blood pressure, or cholesterol
  • Tackling pre-diabetes or other risk factors, so they don’t lead to chronic disease
  • Handling asthma or COPD

Can a member only participate if they have a chronic condition?

No. Whether a member is looking to get (or stay) fit, lose weight, handle stress, prevent disease, manage a chronic condition, or meet another health goal, Vida has expert coaches available to help.

Can a member choose their coach?  

Absolutely. After a member downloads the Vida Health app, they will be prompted to create an account and choose their preferred program (nutrition, weight loss, whole health, stress, exercise, etc.) based on which program offering that has been elected by the respective Capital Rx client. Vida  asks the member a few questions, including what kind of coaching style they’d like — for example a cheerleader type, drill sergeant, listener, or something else.

Vida will recommend some coaches that could be a good fit based on the answers to the member’s survey.  Members then can choose their preferred coach.

Can I change coaches if it doesn’t work out with my first coach?

Absolutely. To request a change, go to the Home screen in your Vida app, tap the gear icon in the upper right, then tap Request New Coach. You’ll complete a brief survey so we can match you with a new coach that’s the best fit for your style and goals.

The telemedicine services made available through Vida Health are provided by licensed healthcare providers practicing within a group of independently owned professional practices collectively known as “Vida Medical”. These professional practices provide services via the Vida Health telehealth platform.
