What is Vida Health?

Vida Health offers personalized health programs and one-on-one coaching through an easy-to-use mobile app. With Vida Health, you get an end-to-end program completely tailored to you and your goals. When you sign up, you have the chance to share your health goals and preferences. We use this to build a program from the ground up, just for you. The program includes your own expert health coach, easy progress-tracking, and helpful resources like videos, recipes, and more — all aimed at helping you achieve better health, in a way that works for you.

What kind of health coaching can I receive through Vida?

At Vida, we handpick the best coaches and health experts from across the country. Whether you’re just starting your wellness journey, training for your next triathlon, or somewhere in between, our coaches can help you reach your goals. Here are a few examples of things we can assist with:

  • Support with specialized diets (e.g. gluten-free, paleo, vegan)
  • Nutrition and healthy eating
  • Event preparation and training (e.g. 10K, triathlon)
  • Healthy sleep habits
  • Support coping with work anxiety or a stressful life event
  • Postpartum health and weight loss
  • Quitting smoking
  • Addressing short-term or chronic low back pain

Who is eligible for Vida health coaching through Visa?

Vida is available to all U.S. benefits eligible Visa employees and your family. Family members include spouses/domestic partners/civil union partners, and dependents over age 18+.

I am a Visa employee. How do I set up my Vida account?

To get started with Vida, you can create an account directly through the homepage or by downloading the Vida Health app from the homepage.

To create an account on

  1. Click ‘Get the app’ button.
  2. Follow the 3 step account creation process.

To create an account through the Vida Health app:

  1. Download the Vida Health app from your phone’s app store.
  2. Select the option to Sign up for Vida.
  3. Follow the account creation process. Be sure that you select Visa as your employer to receive Vida as a free benefit.

During the on-boarding process, be sure to select “Organization” when you reach the screen titled “Is Vida available to you through an organization?”. On the following screen, be sure to choose Visa as your employer to receive Vida for free.

Do I use my work email address to register for this account?

It is recommended that you use a personal email address but you can register with any email address that you prefer ‒ work or personal. Note, as part of the eligibility verification process, an email will be sent to your email address regardless of which email you use. Please enter the code provided in this email within the Vida app when prompted.

Do I use my work email address for ongoing communications?

Ongoing communications are sent to the email address provided during account registration. You also may provide your phone number if you prefer to receive a phone call instead of email.

Will Vida send me text messages?

You may receive a text message from Vida if you don’t complete the sign up process. You can opt out of text messages at any time by responding ‘STOP’.

I got matched to a Health Guide. What is a Health Guide and how will they help me?

A Vida Health Guide may be a good option for you if you’re not quite ready to pick a health coach/therapist or if coach/therapist availability does not coincide with what you shared during onboarding. A Health Guide can work with you across a few different ways, including: showing you how to get the most out of the Vida, setting up relevant trackers within the app, providing personalized health content, coordinating schedules for a consultation time with a coach/therapist, etc.

Can I change coaches if it doesn’t work out with my first coach?

Absolutely. To request a change, go to the Home screen in your Vida app, tap the gear icon in the upper right, then tap Request New Coach. You’ll complete a brief survey so we can match you with a new coach that’s the best fit for your style and goals.

How do I interact with my coach?

You can interact with your coach through the Vida Health app. You have the option to have video calls or voice calls with your coach. Plus, you can communicate with your coach through the chat feature in the app.

Why do I need an account?

Having an account allows you and your family to have access to Vida Health programs and to your own health coach. Once you’ve created your account, you can track your journey, create habits, log metrics, read lessons and relevant content, and talk with your coach.

How do my eligible family members get started with this service?

To create an account, they just need to download the Vida Health app to their mobile device or visit to sign up.

During signup, they will use their own information to create a new account. However, they may need to enter your Visa employee ID number to sign up.


Are Vida’s services confidential?

Yes. In accordance with HIPAA, any personal health information (PHI) you share with Vida is confidential and not shared with Visa or any other third party.

Your PHI is available only to you, Vida Health, and your coach.

Will Visa have access to my personal health information (PHI)?

No. A fundamental term of use and central tenant of your privacy rights is that Visa will never have access to your personal health information. Your consent for treatment is between you, Vida and your personal coach.

Is my data secure?

Vida protects your data by implementing necessary information security practices that satisfy HIPAA security rules. Vida follows documented HIPAA policy and procedures, undergo annual pen tests, 3rd party audits and risk assessments. All Vida employees take information security training when they join the company and annually. If Vida needs to work with 3rd party vendors, Vida requires the same level of security practices and do not use vendors that do not sign a business associate agreement. All Vida computing infrastructure and applications are regularly screened with vulnerability tests and pen tests.

3rd Party Devices & Apps

Can I connect other health and fitness apps/devices to my Vida account?

You can! Connecting your fitness tracking apps and devices to Vida is a great way to stay on track with your health goals. We support integrations with 100+ apps and devices, including:

  • Fitbit
  • Garmin
  • iHealth
  • Jawbone
  • Runkeeper
  • Strava
  • Withings/Nokia Health
  • Apple Health (e.g. Loseit, MyFitnessPal) (iOS only)

How do I connect a 3rd-party app or device to my Vida account?

When you log into Vida for the first time, you’ll see a task on the Home screen that says Connect Devices & Apps. Tapping this will guide you through the device setup process. If you decide to add or change a connected device/app at a later time, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure the device/app you’d like to connect is set up and that data tracking is working properly.
  2. Log into the Vida app.
  3. Go to the Home screen, tap the gear icon in the upper right, then tap Connect Devices & Apps.
  4. Select the device/app you’d like to connect and follow the on-screen instructions.
  5. Repeat these steps if you need to connect more devices or apps.

Why isn’t my device or app syncing to Vida?

Technical Issues

I was asked for a credit card when signing up. Isn’t Vida provided to eligible Visa employees at no charge?

Vida is indeed available at no charge to eligible Visa participants. If you’re seeing the credit card screen in error, go back to the screen titled “Is Vida available to you through an organization” and select “Organization”. On the following screen, be sure to choose Visa to receive Vida for free. You can also email us at and we can help you get properly set up.

I forgot my password. Can you help?

Sure thing. Simply open the Vida app and tap Login. On the login screen, tap Forgot your password? and enter the email address associated with your account. We will send you an email with instructions on how to change your password.
