Recipe: Freezer to Slow Cooker Garlic Lime Chicken


Coming home to a meal that is already cooked can relieve some of the end of the day stress and decrease the likelihood that you call for takeout. Try this delicious slow cooker meal to stave off cravings for not so good for you takeout.

serves 6

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • ¼ cup fresh lime juice (about 2 limes)
  • 1 cup organic low sodium chicken broth
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme leaves
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine

    Instructions:

  • Add all the ingredients into your ziploc bag.
  • Freeze until ready for use.
  • Cook on low for 7-8 hours, or high for 5-6 hours.
  • Serve with roasted or steamed vegetables or a colorful salad.
