Self-Coaching Tip – Assessing Confidence

When setting goals, assessing your confidence level to achieve your goals is a powerful indicator to let you know if your goals are realistic and attainable.

Use this confidence ruler to assess your goals: Ask yourself “on a scale of 1 to 10 how likely am I to achieve this goal?” 10 being extremely confident and 1 not confident at all.

If your confidence level is equal to or less than 7 ask yourself what would make that number an 8 or higher. Perhaps this goal is too big or you foresee a lot of challenges with this goal. Rework the goal to get your confidence number an 8 - 10.

If your confidence is 8 or higher, what attributes do you see contributing to your success? Make a note of those attributes, they may come in handy in the future!
