What is Vida Health?

Vida Health – or Vida – is an online and virtual care platform that offers personalized health coaching and therapy combined with digital therapeutic programs tailored to your own needs and health goals.

Vida offers personalized health programs to help you achieve your personal health goals, all through an easy-to-use mobile app that works on your smart phone or tablet.

With Vida Health, you get a program tailored to you and your health journey. When you sign up, you have the chance to share your health goals and preferences. Vida uses that information to build a program and experience from the ground up, just for you. The program includes a health coach (or therapist), easy progress-tracking through in-app trackers and connected devices, and helpful resources like videos, lessons, practices, recipes, and more — all aimed at helping you achieve better health, in a way that works for you.

Humana has partnered with Vida Health to extend your services as part of your Humana Medicare Advantage health plan at no additional cost to you.

Who is eligible for Vida health coaching through Humana?

Selected U.S. benefits-eligible Medicare Advantage members are eligible for Vida health coaching at no charge. Email us at support@vida.com or call at (855) 440-0037 at anytime and we can confirm your eligibility. We are available 24 hours, 7 days a week.

How long will this program be available to me?

You will have access to this program for the duration of 12 months after registration as long as you meet the eligibility requirements set by Humana and are a member of a participating plan.

Is there any cost associated with this?

There is no additional cost for you to use the Vida app. It is provided to you through your Humana plan.

I have a non – Vida – related question about my plan, can you help me with that?

Please call Humana Customer Care line listed on the back of your Humana Medical ID card.

I saw that I may receive a connected scale, blood pressure cuff, and FitBit, how do I collect these items?

Once you have completed on-boarding, you may order your connected scale and FitBit, at no additional cost to you so that you may use it during your duration of the Vida program. The Vida team will collect your preferred shipping address and will mail the devices to you.

All program devices shipped to you by Vida will need to be returned to Vida at the end of the program.

How do I obtain a Accu-Chek BLE Guide glucometer?

If you do not have a Bluetooth glucometer, contact Humana pharmacy at 1-800-379-0092 to learn how to receive an Accu-Chek Bluetooth meter at no cost, covered by your participating plan.

What kind of health coaching can I receive through Vida?

At Vida, we handpick coaches and health professionals from across the country. Whether you’re just starting your wellness journey, hoping to get your A1c in check, or somewhere in between, our coaches can help you reach your goals. Here are a few examples of things we can assist with:

  • Managing diabetes or hypertension
  • Nutrition and healthy eating
  • Improving exercise and strength training
  • Weight loss
  • Support coping with stress
  • Support with anxiety and depression
  • Healthy sleep habits
  • Addressing short-term or chronic low back pain
  • Support during a major life event that impacts your health

Can I select a preferred coaching style?

Absolutely. After you download the Vida Health app, you’ll be prompted to create an account and select your preferred program. Then, we’ll get you matched to a coach by collecting some inputs from you, including the coaching style you’d like, whether a cheerleader, drill sergeant, listener, or something else.

Can I change coaches/therapists if it doesn’t work out with my first coach/therapist?

Absolutely. To request a change, go to the Home screen in your Vida app, tap the gear icon in the upper right, then tap Request New Coach. You’ll complete a brief survey so we can match you with a new coach that’s the best fit for your style and goals.

Privacy

What happens to the information I provide to Vida?

All personal information you share through Vida’s HIPAA-compliant app is confidential and is securely stored on encrypted databases.

3rd Party Devices & Apps

Can I connect other health and fitness apps/devices to my Vida account?

You can! Connecting your fitness tracking apps and devices to Vida is a great way to stay on track with your health goals. We support integrations with 100+ apps and devices, including:

  • Fitbit
  • Garmin
  • iHealth
  • Jawbone
  • Runkeeper
  • Strava
  • Withings/Nokia Health
  • Apple Health (e.g. Loseit, MyFitnessPal) (iOS only)

How do I connect a 3rd-party app or device to my Vida account?

When you log into Vida for the first time, you’ll see a task on the Home screen that says Connect Devices & Apps. Tapping this will guide you through the device setup process. If you decide to add or change a connected device/app at a later time, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure the device/app you’d like to connect is set up and that data tracking is working properly.
  2. Log into the Vida app.
  3. Go to the Home screen, tap the gear icon in the upper right, then tap Connect Devices & Apps.
  4. Select the device/app you’d like to connect and follow the on-screen instructions.
  5. Repeat these steps if you need to connect more devices or apps.

Why isn’t my device or app syncing to Vida?

First, please make sure your device is properly connected (see previous FAQ: “How do I connect a 3rd-party device or app to my Vida account?”). If you’ve checked this and are still having problems, please email us at support@vida.com.

Technical Issues

The credit card screen popped up. Isn’t Vida provided to eligible Humana participants at no charge?

Vida is indeed available at no charge to eligible Humana participants. If you’re seeing the credit card screen in error, email us at support@vida.com or call at (855) 440-0037 <TTY 711> at anytime and we can help you get properly set up. We are available 24 hours, 7 days a week.

I forgot my password. Can you help?

Sure thing. Simply open the Vida app and tap Login. On the login screen, tap Forgot your password? and enter the email address associated with your account. We will send you an email with instructions on how to change your password.
